Our History in PNG Oil & Gas
- In 2004, CPDL executives setup a PNG Company “Cheetah Oil & Gas Ltd.”
- Cheetah applied and was granted five oil & gas exploration leases in PNG.
- Cheetah Oil & Gas formed a Public Company, trading on OTCBB in USA.
- Local offices were setup, twenty local people were employed including the legendary Jack Sari as country manager.
- Ambassador Kiatro Abisinito was retained on a two year contract.
- Halliburton was hired to drill a well on Cheetah’s PPL 246, which coincidentally enough was located next to the Elk Antelope gas fields discovered years later.
- In all, over $45,000,000 US dollars was raised and spent to fund said projects.
- Cheetah Oil & Gas (PNG) Ltd was later sold to LNG Ltd.
