PNG ‘An Island Of Gold Floating On A Sea of Oil’
The above slogan, first heard years ago, was the inspiration behind our first visit to this beautiful tropical island.
CPDL personnel first applied for a mining license for the Mt Kare Gold mine back in 1986.
Mt Kare is 15 km west of Barricks Pogera Gold mine.
Mining warden hearings were held on site in 1986 by Mr Able Perinde mining warden and Mr Hari Sharma (CPDL).
PNG mines are spread across the country, the largest of which include: Ok Tedi Copper and Gold Mine, Porgera Gold Mine, Lihir Gold Mine, Hidden Valley Gold Mine, Simberi Gold Mine, Tolukuma Gold Mine and Ramu Nickel Mine and new Wafi-Golpu project in Morobe. Newcrest and Harmony Gold Mining Company currently own 50% of the Wafi-Golpu project through the Wafi-Golpu Joint Venture (WGJV)
Through our personal relationships with many local land owner groups we understand their frustrations of not being able to participate in many, (if at all) in these world class natural resource projects taking place on their land. Papua New Guineans are frustrated, even angry with their current, almost delegated position of being non-participants in most of these PNG world class projects.
CPDL is here to change that!
Our association with a Consortium of Companies enables us to coordinate and supply world class foreign strategic partners (EPC Contractors, engineering consultants, PMCs, O&M, technology providers etc) to any Joint Venture Agreement signed with the appropriate registered Land Owner Groups.
Negotiations are currently underway with Landowners for just such a joint venture participation.
